What is Femoroacetabular Impingement Syndrome (FAIS)?

Femoroacetabular Impingement Syndrome (FAIS) is a motion and compression-related disorder of the hip involving unhealthy contact between the acetabulum and the femur, which results in particular symptoms, clinical signs and imaging findings. Hip osteoarthritis may develop over time as a result of this abnormal contact in the hip joint.
